With @lorildunham Lori Dunham’s new LEMS column, “ Stretcher-bearers”, it’s made me think a little bit more about those who sacrifice to take care of Lambert-Eaton patients who aren’t able to do everything they’d like to. I guess I’m lucky, I’ve only had to ask my sister for help when there’s been other emergencies, not LEMS related. My treatment plan is effective enough that I’m able to deal with most day to day activities without a caregiver. There may come a day when that won’t be the case, LEMS related, or from some other cause. Until then, I’ll look forward to learning more from Lori and her daughter, Grace. If you have a caregiver who helps you because of LEMS related issues, or are a caregiver yourself, I’d love to learn more.
