Did you celebrate Disability Pride Month?
Another month has flown by!
Did you know that July was disability pride month? I somehow missed the memo this year but I plan to do more next year!
Did any of you celebrate Disability Pride Month? Attend any cool events maybe?
I have been paying close attention to the Paris Olympics this year and have been happy to see many people with disabilities participating.
Celine Dion opened the Olympics with a beautiful rendition of “Hymne à l’amour” has shared much about her life with Stiff Person Syndrome and recently released her documentary shedding light on the disease.
Katie Ledecky (8-time Gold medal winner) has been very open about her life with POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome).
Lastly, gymnast Suni Lee has shared details about her struggle with two rare kidney diseases although she hasn’t publicly shared her specific diagnosis.
I find it incredibly inspiring to see so many not only battling chronic illness publicly but also thriving and excelling.
