Biography

Originally from PA, I moved with my wife to VA to be closer to our grandchildren and our daughter and son-in-law.  I have dealt with post traumatic concussion syndrome, fibromyalgia, TBI, and RA, for years.  But treatments, therapies, medications, holistic approaches, etc, never really helped.  Last fall, I read an article about LEMS and said that’s me!  My family physician at the time ho-hummed my speculations.  On my own, I made an appointment  with a neurologist whom I had previously seen for dizziness and fatigue.  Amazingly, she specializes in LEMS!  She agreed that my symptoms were those of LEMS, ran the necessary tests( one of which was administered by a Dr who was involved in running the Firdapase trials) and I was officially diagnosed.  I now take Ruzurgi and Mestinon, and I am finally back to having a life!  I still have up and down days, and I usually overdo the up days, but I will take this me over the PA me!
