LEMS first surfaced in 2005, triggered by lung cancer. Surgery, radiation, and chemo treatments cured the cancer, and LEMS symptoms went away.  In 2022 LEMS symptoms returned, but 2 PET scans and 2 bronchoscopies have failed to confirm the presence of any cancer.  The search for a cause continues.
