After a ten-year journey, several mis-diagnoses, and having to stop teaching, I was finally diagnosed with LEMS at age 53. Over the past few years, my symptoms have really begun to impact my quality of life, especially my ability to walk, but I get some relief from Rituxan infusions and more recently, IVIg. I am starting subcutaneous infusions soon. I am eager to connect with and learn from others who have LEMS and try to stay positive despite our rare and challenging disease. I enjoy my two Labrador pups, caring for my plants, reading, music, and nature in Oregon with my husband.
