Short Bio |
my wife went from fairly normal in january to being on a ventilator in an ICU in less than three months. She has trouble with auto immune problems but she lost the ability to walk. talk, and eat. They thought she had MG and was treated with IVIG which didn’t work, then Mestinon which didn’t work, then Prednisone which helped a little, then came LEMS. At first the doctors thought she may have cancer causing this but after CT and MRI they still were not sure so they did a PET scan of her whole body and when this was negative they concluded she had the autoimmune version of LEMS. She is now taking Firdapse, along with Mestinon, and Prednisone and she has begun to improve but it is very slow. I think the Firdapse was a God send. Now I wanted to reach out to others that have the same trouble.
