    Good morning all! Happy Friday!

I came across this article yesterday, and although it’s not related specifically to LEMS, I thought it was interesting and wanted to share.

The article states that medical researchers have found the answer as to why so many patients with COVID are having issues with blood clots in multiple locations. They found that this is due to autoantibodies being made that cause blood clots. If you are familiar with Antiphospholipid Syndrome, (APS)these antibodies (in COVID patients) are the same type that APS patients have.

Let me know what you think about this!

This is a very interesting and hopefully fruitful line of research. We LEMS patients certainly know about autoantibodies, which makes this study more understandable to us. We know about inappropriate inflammatory responses. I’ve got my fingers crossed they quickly get this sorted. It would help save lives.
