Every month here at Lambert-Eaton News we are having a Zoom call with LEMS patients. These ‘virtual’ meetings are a fantastic way to communicate and talk with other LEMS patients. You can hear someone else’s story and ask questions. You can relate your story to someone else. It’s easy, when you have so much in common, to become very close to that other person.

There are other ways to meet and develop relationships with other LEMS patients such as through social media. Dare I say, these relationships can be as important and impactful as those you form with people you actually see in person. When there’s the shared experience of living with LEMS, the attachments can grow quite strong and meaningful.

While seeing someone in person and developing a strong relationship with them is the essence of a good life, doing so virtually can also be a big part of a person’s life. At least, that’s from my perspective.

Have you used social media, virtual online meetings, or other opportunities to develop great relationships with other LEMS patients, virtually?
