• Dysautonomia and LEMS

    Good morning!

After my last post, I am curious to see how many of us have been diagnosed with a “secondary” condition related to our autonomic nervous system (Dysautonomia).

If you are unfamiliar with the autonomic nervous system (ANS) or dysautonomia, this is the part of our nervous system that controls “automatic” responses by the body and is the direct link to many other systems of the body. Think of the ANS as part of the brain to our nervous system. Dysautonomia International has a wealth of information to explain the ANS in more detail and you should check it out!

I was actually diagnosed with POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) about six months before I was diagnosed with LEMS. LEMS is linked to causing dysfunction of the autonomic system, although some of you may not have an official diagnosis of Dysautonomia.

Who, in this group, has symptoms of dysautonomia or has been diagnosed with an official dysautonomia diagnosis?
