LEMS, Look After Yourself!
LEMS is rare. I know that, you know that. Others know nothing about Lambert-Eaton. They haven’t had it. They don’t know anyone who has it. No one in their family has it.
Perhaps it’s too much to expect others to understand what we’re dealing with. My left shoulder is getting weaker. It’s causing problems. And it’s going slow, raising attention and getting something done. I finally got an evaluation from my Primary, and a superficial, in-clinic evaluation, and orders for an X-Ray as a first step. I waited a week, and no call from radiology. When are they going to call and set me up? After eight days, I called them. No problem they say, “X-Rays are usually just walk-ins”. Thanks. My Primary didn’t tell me that.
This Thursday I’m in diabetes clinic and will use that day to walk-in to X-Ray and get that done. Let’s get the ball rolling. My shoulder is weak!
If I could, I would write this 100 times, “Be PROACTIVE”.
