Short Bio |
I was diagnosed in April 2018. It was actual an accident, I was being given a ECG for carpal tunnel and the neurologist performing the test said”something isn’t quite right here. He reccommended I put off the carpal tunnel surgery and go to a neuromuscular specialist. After the full ECG and blood test my LEMS diagnosis was confirmed. I had felt easily fatigued, had some leg weakness, severe constipation and some trouble swallowing but I wrote it off to getting older. Over a 2 year span my weakness became increasingly more severe, and I went on Firdapse about a year ago and it has helped tremendously. Of course, I go for a CT Scan every 6 months and so far they have been normal. (knock on wood)
I am very grateful for the quick diagnosis, being cancer free, and to Catalyst Pathways program for making Firdapse available to me.
