This morning I read this article, “How a Community Becomes Like Family When We Need It Most, by Helen Baldwin and her column, ‘We’re Not in Kansas Anymore.’ The last paragraph is most pertinent. Read it HERE.

Though the story referenced above is about a child, it could be about any of us, at any age. Being chronically ill is a game-changer. Life is never the same after the diagnosis. Hopefully, we learn, adjust, and press on, trying for a happy life. Our community, both live and virtual, is incredibly important for support. It’s the Facebook groups, messages in Messenger, the texts and emails amongst our extended LEMS family that provide impactful influence on our mental and physical well-being.

Being a part of this LEMS extended family, offering support and advocacy is why we do what we do here in the LEMS forums too.

Do you take advantage of our extended LEMS family on social media or other communications?
