Sharing awareness for LEMS!
Happy RARE Disease Day friends!
Some of you may already be aware that February 29th (or the 28th on non-leap years) is also known as Rare Disease Day)!
Each year this day’s goal is to raise awareness for Rare diseases in general, but also for each rare disease. There are over 6,000 rare diseases and they affect about 300 million people!!
Do you do anything to celebrate Rare Disease Day?
I choose to use my social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram) to raise awareness and I’ve shared my story on other Rare disease platforms as well!
This week, @Lori Dunham’s most recent column, “We’ve never had more opportunities for raising awareness,” highlights many ways she and her daughter have raised awareness in the past, and plans to continue raising awareness!
The Lambert-Eaton LEMS Family Association is also working hard to raise LEMS awareness.
