Do you have any birthday traditions?
Hey, ya’ll! It’s my birthday week!
As we get older I’ve found that our birthday becomes “just another day.” This year I’m spending my birthday getting my life-saving IVIG. But I plan to still have a wonderful day and I think we all need a reason to celebrate any time we can in these hard times.
Since I’ve transitioned to getting my IVIG at home, it’s become a much more pleasurable experience if you want to call it that.
My nurse has become one of my best friends and we spend the day binge-watching our favorite shows and eating yummy snacks. Each month, we try to bring something new for each of us to try. Last month, our favorite snack was dark chocolate-covered raspberries we found in the freezer section of the grocery store and some peach donuts that a local food truck makes
I don’t have any specific traditions for my birthday but I do like to spend an afternoon with my family and have a slice of my favorite almond cake.

Hello Ashley,
Birthday cakes are no longer my first choice to celebrate my birthday.
I love fresh sugar cookies.
My adult children and husband will still by a birthday cake for themselves. I guess it’s not a birthday without a cake. Blah Blah Blah 😂
While they eat their chosen desert, I’m thoroughly enjoying my plain sugar cookies.
