Hi my name is Raine and live in UK was diagnosed 25 years ago at age 39. I don’t have the cancer that can be with LEMS

Was wrongly diagnosed twice before finally getting the diagnosis.

I take diaminopyridine 10mg 7 times a day. Without it I have very little strength to do anything

Tried Firdapse for a short while but due to the expense I was taken off of it I get my DAP directly from the hospital

I’m thinking of swopping my Azathioprine for another immunosuppressant that has less side effects does anyone have any thoughts on this please

    Thank you

Hi @Raine ! Welcome! We are glad you found us!

Some other immunosuppressants that can help with LEMS include Cellcept (mycophenolate mofetil) and Rituxan infusions (Rituximab)! We have several users here that use either, Azathioprine isn’t prescribed much anymore in the US.

Has a lot of info about Cellcept and Rituxan along with other treatment options! A lot of us also receive IVIG infusions to treat LEMS!

We also have some forum topics you can browse on the different treatments! https://lamberteatonnews.com/forums/forums/forum/treating-lems

    Hope this helps!

I agree with Ashley. Rituximab followed by Cellcept did wonders for my daughter!

I was on steroids for a period of time. But, I opted to discontinue due to side effects. Being on steroids didn’t help my LEMS symptoms.
