Who’s on your health care team?
Hey all!
In the past, we’ve talked about the struggle of juggling multiple healthcare providers while managing our LEMS (and/or other illnesses)!
Who is on your LEMS care team?
Personally, I see a neuromuscular specialist, cardiology, and rheumatology! In the past, I’ve also seen a GI specialist and a nephrologist.
Do your specialists communicate with each other or do you end up being the messenger?

I usually have one main doctor who helps keep everything in check, but I still end up repeating my story to different specialists sometimes. It really makes a difference when they actually talk to each other.

I’m glad that you can rely on the main doctor to keep everything in check! I agree it definitely helps if the specialists can talk with each other instead of relying on us to be the messenger, it would be so much easier that way!
