Have you considered Occupational Therapy?
Recently on a Facebook group, I was touched by someone new to LEMS, suffering much anguish about what they could do after their diagnosis. A LEMS diagnosis is life-altering. Finding ways to adapt and plan your life after experiencing LEMS symptoms is a major part of coping with the disorder.
“LEMONS Make LEMONADE.” A friend gifted me this little sign as a reminder. It’s what we must do!
My recommendation to this person was to consider having some sessions with an OT, or Occupational Therapist.
Here’s an article on LEMS and OT.
Have you considered asking your healthcare provider for a referral to an Occupational Therapist? If you see an OT, what has your experience been like?
