    Those of us with LEMS know all too well that the excessive heat of summer is a big trigger for our symptoms. For me, when the afternoon temperatures exceed 100 degrees, even going to the mailbox can prove difficult with the hip weakness of LEMS.

    July is the shank of summer here in the northern hemisphere so recognizing heat-related problems and what to do when you experience problems, or see someone who is, can help you respond.

    From the CDC, here is a great graphic on heat-related illnesses, what to look for, and what to do.
