Traveling is Stressful with LEMS Flash Briefing
Recently I did a round trip half way across the country by air. I’m 72, have LEMS and diabetes. Travel needs to go well for me. It did not. I’ll spare you the details, but on my return trip we were delayed getting off, my route had to be changed, and I arrived at my destination 5 hours later than the original plan.
While we can’t predict or plan for problems that suddenly arise due to weather, equipment, etc., we can prep for travel with good planning to make it easy for those of us with LEMS. Lori Dunham, in her recent Stretcher Bearers column talks about travel preparations to best help her daughter with LEMS.
