Why You Should Get Tested for Cancer
It’s been awhile since my Lambert-Eaton diagnosis. When first diagnosed, my neurologist immediately ordered tests to look for cancer and initiated a follow up schedule we implemented for 2 years. Why would we do this? Cancer, often small cell lung cancer (SCLC), can be the trigger of the inappropriate autoimmune response resulting in LEMS. The incidence is significant enough to make these protocols prudent and necessary. Here’s a Flash Briefing on the subject.
