What year where you diagnosed with LEMS?
Posted by Ashley on February 23, 2021 at 10:26 amHey all!
I know we’ve talked in the past about the ages we were diagnosed with LEMS, but I was wondering what year everyone was actually diagnosed.
I have a feeling most of us weren’t diagnosed too long ago due to awareness being so low for LEMS.
I was diagnosed in 2015, What about you?

I’m so thrilled to see all of your responses! Thank you for sharing with me! I think it’s pretty interesting that so far most of us have been diagnosed in the last 10 years! I believe that LEMS is more common than thought, but misdiagnosed very often or patients are left with an undiagnosed diagnosis. I wonder if LEMS has always been this prevalent or if something in the environment or our genetics are to be blamed for the increase. What do you guys think?

I was diagnosed in January 2020 but had symptoms for 8 years prior. Was forced to leave work early.

I’m sorry you had such a long time waiting for a diagnosis and that you were forced to leave work. I’m sure that was very hard.
